Robert James Hamilton was born at Humpybong to parents Charles Hamilton and Mary Ann Tucker. Robert attended Humpybong State School and when his father Charles died in 1909, mother Mary then married Martin McDonnell in 1910. At the time of his enlistment in April 1915 Robert was a Police Constable. After the war Robert went to live in the Northern Territory where he married Ena Greenlees in 1932. Robert was the eldest of the three Hamilton brothers, his other brothers being John Charles Sutton [2026] and William Samuel [5424]Birth date29 March 1891Death date27 June 1957
