Buried: Unknown Robert was the son of Robert Sanders and Ann Herris Bath. He was 19 years old, working as a butter maker and living in Gympie, Queensland, at the time of his enlistment in June 1915. Robert returned to Australia with gunshot wounds to his left arm and was discharged in September 1918. After the war he worked as a butter packer and then as maker at Caboolture Co-Operative, Queensland. Robert married Beatrice Alice Tinney on 26 January 1921. Robert's mother was the second daughter of Charles Unwin and Hannah Symonds, who settled in Caboolture around 1865 and sister to Samuel Ross Roberts' [1912] mother, Fanny.Birth date12 September 1895Death date16 December 1975
