Sidney George was the son of Jones Anthony Bourke and Mary Jenkins Hendren who lived at Burpengary, Queensland. Sidney was single and was a railway employee when he enlisted in September 1916. A younger brother, Anthony Vivian [36506] enlisted a month later. After the war he continued working for the Railway.
