There were six brothers of which the three youngest enlisted in September 1916. The two other brothers were Archibald Septimus [632] and Harold Ivo [1690]. Sydney was single, working as a Railway porter for Queensland Government Railways and living in D'Aguilar, Queensland, when he enlisted on 14 July 1915. After the war he lived with his brother Harold at Brackenridge, Queensland, until he married Barbara Jane Sinclair in 1921. After the war they lived in Strathpine for a short period before the couple took up residence in Wilston, Queensland.Birth date24 September 1888Death date27 July 1975
