Buried: Mt Thompson Memorial Garden, Holland Park, Queensland Thomas Edward Newson was the son of William Henry Newson and Lucy Ann Bird. He immigrated to Australia on board the ship Marathon in 1910. At the time of his enlistment in January 1916 Thomas was married to Florence Matilda Fletcher and they resided at Stony Creek, Woodford, Queensland where Thomas worked as a labourer and chemist. On his return after the war, the couple took up residence at Oakdale, Newmarket Road, Hendra, Queensland and remained there until his death. He was manager of the B.A.F.S. Dispensary in South Brisbane and also a member of the Victoria Lodge No. 10 of the United Grand Lodge of Queensland.Death date15 August 1938
