Thomas was the son of Charles Haworth and Mary Collington. He married Eliza Harriett Richards on 14 July 1909 and they were living in Caboolture, Queensland, when he enlisted in February 1916. At that time Thomas was 37 years old and working as a Sawyer. Thomas returned to Caboolture after the war and remained there until his death.Death date15 November 1937
