Victor Clyde was the son of Robert John Dougherty and Rose Landbridge who lived at Sandgate, Queensland. He was single, working as a labourer and living in Woodford, Queensland when he enlisted in July 1915. Victor was wounded by a bullet and as he was getting into a shell hole for shelter was then hit by a shell at Mouquet Farm, near Thiepval, Pozieres. His brother, James Oakwell [3317], who had also enlisted in July and was in the same 49th Battalion was also wounded by the same shell.Birth date07 September 1893Death date05 September 1916
