Walde was the son of Carl Herman Fisher and Rhoda Edith Von Schromm. At the outbreak of the war the family was living at Redcliffe where Carl, the Reverend C H Fisher, was the rector. A university undergraduate, Walde enlisted at the age of 21 in February 1916. Walde received rapid promotion and was serving as a Lieutenant when he was killed in action at Sailly-le-Sec., Somme Sector, France, in April 1918. His older brother, Theodore Herbert [2144] also enlisted.Death date05 April 1918
