William enlisted in October 1915 and embarked on the Argyllshire on 11 May 1916. Arriving at Durban some weeks later he was deemed medically unfit and returned to Australia August 1916. William married Annie Mycock 1920 and they lived at Glenafton in Sutton Street Redcliffe. William was a blacksmith and active in local affairs.Birth date23 April 1893Death date14 November 1964
