Harry's parents were Harry A Banks and Sarah A Ogbin. He married Mary Ann King in 1904 at Redfern, New South Wales. Harry enlisted on 1 June 1916 at Enoggera Barracks in Brisbane. He was employed as a Sergeant of Army Pay Corps.
