Leonard Penzhurst Fletcher was the son of John Benjamin Fletcher and Alice Joyce, who resided at Woodford, Queensland. Leonard was single, working as a labourer and living in Caboolture, Queensland, at the time of his enlistment in December 1916. He returned to Woodford after the war and married Annie Emily Kickbusch in February 1920.
