Owen Bennion Price was the son of James Thomas Bennion Price, a solicitor in Brisbane, Queensland, and Ada Helen Bale. He was 19 years old and working as a Bank Clerk in the E S & A Bank, Woodford, Queensland when he enlisted in November 1916. Owen was hit by a shell while eating breakfast in a wood near Corbie on Somme, France, when they were behind the lines.
