They arrived in Moreton Bay on the Carnatic on 25 October 1881. James Chambers was born in 1859 at Fernagreevagh, Armagh, Northern Ireland, to parents John Chambers and Bridget Carbary. Mary Ann McKeiver was born in 1858 at Armaghbrague, Armagh, Northern Ireland. They married on 3 February 1880 at Armagh, Northern Ireland. James Chambers selected Portion 33 Parish of Pine, containing an area of 160 acres, on 15 February 1883. He then selected Portion 22V Parish of Pine, containing an area of 97 acres, on 24 April 1900. They lived at Terrors Creek (now known as Dayboro) for two and a half years then moved to Mt Pleasant. They named their farm Orange Grove after a lot of fruit trees were planted. Together they had fourteen children. Their youngest son Tom was killed in action during WWI.
