They arrived in Moreton Bay on the Reichstag on 1 August 1872 with their young children Carl and Hedwig. On 16 December 1874 Franz Sellin selected his first property at King Scrub, being Portion 101 Parish of Samsonvale, containing an area of 80 acres.
