TitleWilliam James (Jim) Pritchard (right) and Sarah Jane Pritchard (nee Littlefield) (left)DescriptionWilliam James Pritchard was born on 1 August 1856 at Warning, Donaghcloney, Lurgan, County Down, Northern Ireland to parents James Pritchard and Rebecca Marshall. He and his younger brother George arrived in Hervey Bay on the City of Agra on 14 July 1876. Jim Pritchard married Sarah Jane Littlefield on 31 October 1892 at Upper North Pine. Sarah was born in 1873 at Winchester, Hampshire, England to parents George Littlefield and Jane Baker, after her father's death. Her parents were married in the June quarter of 1872 and her father died in the December quarter of 1872. Her mother Jane Baker then married James George Batchelor in 1873. Sarah Jane Littlefield arrived in Moreton Bay on the Quetta on 10 December 1888 with her mother, step-father and 2 step-brothers and 3 step-sisters. On 4 July 1889 William James Pritchard selected the first of his properties at Mt Pleasant, being Portion 27V Parish of Pine containing 160 acres. He added two more properties to his land holding, Portion 60 Parish of Pine, containing an area of 263 acres, on 3 April 1914 and Subdivision 2 of Portion 25V Parish of Pine, containing an area of 316 acres 19 perches, on 1 January 1922. Three sons of William James Pritchard and Sarah Jane Littlefield enlisted in World War One (World War I or WWI), under the surname Upritchard. They all survived the War. Jim and Sarah Pritchard are both buried in Dayboro Cemetery.
