TitleElizabeth Mary StoreyDescriptionElizabeth Mary Storey was born on 8 June 1902, the oldest of nine children of William Henry (Bill) Storey and Edith Mary Bechly. One of her brothers, Foster Storey, lived to be 104 years of age (He was born on 10 December 1907 at King Scrub). Bill Storey was a timber-getter and the family lived in the Mt Pleasant, Narangba and Mt Mee districts. They were living at Mt Mee when Elizabeth's mother Edith died on 27 July 1914. Elizabeth Mary Storey married Michael James Leonard on 27 May 1926 at Greymouth, New Zealand. They remained in New Zealand. Elizabeth's grandfather, Robert James Storey, selected property at Mt Pleasant on 17 July 1879, being Portion 14 Parish of Pine containing an area of 69 acres. He then selected Portion 8 Parish of Pine, containing an area of 95 acres, on 21 November 1883. Robert James Storey was born on 28 May 1833 at Tyholland, Monaghan, Ireland. On 11 April 1855 he married Mary Edith Foster in the Tyholland Parish Church. Robert and Mary and their three children arrived in Rockhampton on the Bayswater on 21 January 1866. Robert Storey had been a schoolteacher in Ireland. On 6 November 1883 the Upper North Pine School re-opened with Robert Storey as the teacher where he taught until March 1887.
