On 19 July 1905 he married Mary Catherine Keatinge at The Parsonage, Bowen Hills. On 15 March 1906 property at Mt Pleasant, being Portion 38 Parish of Pine, containing an area of 160 acres, was registered in the name of Frederick John Bloomfield. Fred and Catherine as she was known had ten children, all of whom attended Mt Pleasant State School. The youngest daughter Alma also attended Mt Pleasant Banana Settlement School during its short existence. Frederick John Bloomfield died on 6 August 1944.
