TitleJanuary 2011 Flood Event - Debris in Leis Park LawntonDescriptionOn 11 January 2011 a major flood event occurred in the North Pine River. This flood event was the combination of above-average levels of rainfall over an extended period prior to 6 January 2011 and peaked on 11 January 2011, thus impacting on the North Pine Dam and the surrounding catchment areas. The North Pine Dam operators had to open five floodgates on 11 January 2011. This photograph was taken just after 11 January 2011 in Leis Park Lawnton where there was a lot of debris and damage to park infrastructure. The floodwaters have undermined a very large tree to expose its roots system and also left a lot of debris for clean up.Date11 January 2011PhotographerAshford, KellyCollectorMoreton Bay Regional CouncilRecord typePhotographFormat typeDigitalOriginal format colourColour
