TitleWamuran Railway House and Station in the 1920sDescriptionConstruction of a railway to Woodford was approved by Parliament in early 1908 and construction began in April 1908. The Commissioners Annual Report noted that the work was carried out by day labour, and good progress was being made. The railway line which was 17.64 miles (28.74 kilometres) in length was opened on 6 December 1909.

On the short branch line to Woodford, four intermediate stations were provided. At Moodlu, Wamuran (six miles / 9.6 kilometres from Caboolture), Bracalba (8 miles / 12.9 kilometres), D’Aguilar (14 miles 54 chains / 23 kilometres) and Woodford (17 miles 38 chains / 27.4 kilometres). The new station names were all gazetted on 4 March 1910.

“The permanent way, running generally in a north westerly direction, left the northern end of Caboolture yard, crossed the old Bruce Highway on the tevel, and ran in a straight line for (4 km) across open ridges, climbed a 1 in 66 grade and dropped down under an overbridge to Moodlu…before the station itself and the public loop. Wararba Creek is followed briefly and the track passes under another road bridge to the present terminus of Wamuran (6 m. 32 chs.) where two loop sidings are provided lor loading the pineapples grown in this vicinity. Beyond Wamuran many of the farms could be seen from the railway which again followed the creek as far as Bracalba…”.

Wamuran and D’Aguilar are significant as surviving station buildings formerly on the Caboolture to Kilcoy railway branch line (opened 1909 to Woodford – Kilcoy in 1911 and closed in 1964 from Wamuran).
