TitleLaying splitting wedges at Camp Mountain Quarry, early 1920sDescriptionDuring a brief period from 1921 to 1923, granite quarried from a property owned by the Marks family at Camp Mountain was transported to Brisbane on the newly opened Dayboro Branch Railway. The granite, actually classed as granodiorite, was quarried in large blocks, hauled to the railway line and railed to a point near the Roma Street railway yards to be used for the foundations of the Brisbane City Hall.
