Denham and Reid built the Silverwood Dairy Company in 1903. It operated first as a butter factory and later as a milk supply and butter factory. The factory was owned, up until 1916, by Digby Denham the then Premier of Queensland. In 1916 a cooperative company was formed by the farmers. They formed the Terrors Creek - Samsonvale Cooperative Dairy Company, which then bought the factory.
