TitleOld wooden footbridge across the North Pine River at Petrie, 1920sDescriptionChildren can be seen with a large dog on the bridge. The footbridge was an important thoroughfare providing residents and students on the southern bank (Lawnton side) with a short cut to Petrie and the North Pine State School. Petrie residents also used the bridge to access the Acclimatisation Society Gardens in Lawnton. North Pine State School students were often brought to the area for swimming lessons during the 1920s.
