Mrs Catherine Trudgen Houghton (nee Rowe) (1862-1931) married George Herbert Houghton in 1883. The Houghtons were pioneers of the North Pine area. When their eldest daughter, Bertha Emmeline Houghton (1885-1976) married Robert McKinlay Mochrie in 1912, Mrs Houghton closed her shop and Mr and Mrs Mochrie opened a new store on adjoining land. Mrs Agnes Annie Myles (nee Houghton) (1887-1982), second eldest daughter of George and Catherine, can be seen sitting on the verandah in the photograph.
