TitlePlaque at the site of the original Strathpine State School, 1999DescriptionHistoric plaque commemorating the site of the original state school at Strathpine. The school was opened in January 1911 and closed in December 1988. It was later called the Strathpine Infant School with only grades 1 and 2 attending this school and higher grades attending the new Strathpine State School located across the road next to the high school. Eventually all the grades were taught at the new state school and the old school was used for a variety of things even after the loss of the original building to fire in 1993. The old school will be remembered by many of the older shire residents.
