TitleQueens Beach Presbyterian ChurchDescriptionIn April 1920 the Presbyterian Church of Queensland purchased two allotments of land in Prince Edward Parade near Eversleigh Road and adjacent to The Haven. The first service was apparently held underneath the home of Mr P.G. Manley in Downs Street. A decision was made to erect a marquee on the land in Prince Edward Parade and this was then used for all services and meetings. On Saturday 18 December 1937, the church on the corner of Prince Edward Parade and Josephine Street was opened and dedicated by Reverend Dr James Gibson MA, Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Queensland. This became known as the Queens Beach Presbyterian Church. After the union of the churches in 1977, this church became known as the Josephine Street Uniting Church.Dateca. 1950PhotographerSlaughter, IreneCollectorSlaughter FamilyRecord typePhotographFormat typePhysicalOriginal format colourBlack and whiteOriginal format dimensions6.6cm x 4cm
