TitleSt Bernadette'sDescriptionSt Bernadette's Catholic church was situated in Adams Street at Scarborough. The foundation stone was laid in December 1947. The wing running north from the street corner would be used for the time being as a church to be converted later into an assembly hall. The one running east was to be used as a school. The official opening and dedication of the new brick Church-school was performed by His Grace, Archbishop Duhig, on 27 June 1948. As the parish grew it became necessary to extend the church. The church was extended and opened again on 27 February 1964.
