Col Fischer Park , Banksia Beach (Qld.)

Colin and Bry Fischer were early resident of the new Solander Lake development at Banksia beach in 1979. Their agricultural business background led to their retirement garden at No 33 Solander Esplanade being a colourful showpiece of flowers and shrubs, winning many garden competitions, and awarded “Best Garden in Caboolture Shire” on several occasions. During their 22 years living here they contributed thousands of volunteer hours to planting and beautifying the Foreshore area of Banksia Beach. A keen historian, he wrote a book about Banksia beach development, but died in June 2011 just before his book was published.
