The Bowman family moved from Mitchelton to Bunyaville in 1930, obtaining 112 acres between Kedron Brook and South Pine Road. The land was worked by the six husky sons who conducted a dairy, grew vegetables and operated large fowl sheds. The father, Arch Bowman, was described in his 1944 obituary as being one of the Australian Labour Party's pioneers, at first in Victoria, then later in Queensland. Mrs. Bowman was a lover of horses and a breeder of prize winning Welsh ponies. The land was sold for subdivision in 1959. Approved by the Pine Rivers Shire Council on 7 November 1968 (68/4549).
