Douglas Franklin Park was established from a park contribution due to a subdivision of adjacent farmland (Lot 12 RP199326). MBRC holds Douglas Franklin Park in trust for the Department of Environment and Resource Management (DERM). The Park is classified as a linear linkage park and the primary purpose is for passive recreation and conservation. The park is approximately 2.15km long and averages 20m wide with a total approximate area of 5.5 hectares. It is located along and in the steep banks and floodplains of Cedar Creek and contains riparian vegetation along the southern bank, stretching from Mount Samson Road to Cedardell Court.
