Fred Ward Park, Everton Hills (Qld.)

Fred Ward and wife Irene came to Bunyaville in 1926, built a home on the site of the present Arana Hills Fire Station, living there for the next 40 years conducting a most successful firewood depot and poultry farm. Mr Ward served in the Navy of both World Wars, his first aid knowledge and many kindly deeds to neighbours of the district are well remembered. Youngest son Edward John (Ted) was born in the district, married, purchased the first block of land available from the Patrick Estate and has therefore never left the district which he and his wife Margaret have been exceptionally active serving in many voluntary capacities.
