James Winn Park, Jollys Lookout (Qld.)

James Reginald Winn (Jim), served the local authority for over seventeen years. He was appointed 19 August 1952 as Division One Councillor, he successfully contested the 1955, 1958, 1961, 1964 and 1967 elections. The surname of Jim Winn, his brothers and father is remembered in Winn Road, Samsonvale. The family conducted a most successful sawmill and were farming there before the land was resumed for building the North Pine Dam. The subsequent formation of Lake Samsonvale swamped the mill site.
