Leslie Patrick Park, Arana Hills (Qld.)

August 1978 Cr Brian Burke moved that it be 'Patricks Park' and that was the name correctly used by PRSC staff on all maps. However, the fancy signpost in December 1978 said 'Leslie Patrick'. July 1978 Cr Brian Burke moved that the park be named Patricks Park to honour one of the pioneering families in this area. He said "Although Mr Les Patrick is advanced in years, he is still very agile, and it gives me please to honour this family by so naming the Park" Mr Les Patrick is a son of Mr Frederick Patrick original landowner of the whole of the central Arana Hills District, portions 52 and 61 Bunya. In 1984 a family tree booklet of the Patrick family was published. "Bowling Along with the Patricks at Mt Pleasant Homestead".
