Sylvia Gibbs Park, Everton Hills (Qld.)
Although committee approved name of Georges Park to honour the only Senator who had lived in this area for any period of time, two from Division One and several other Councillors brought a majority vote for the new name. The Gibbs family of Bunya Road were spokespersons for the area formerly known as 'Bunyaville No-maintenance', and in times of bushfires had used their own earthmoving equipment to assist. It was pointed out to the meeting that Councillors did still intend to use the name Georges for a park somewhere in the area eventually. Gibbs family lived in the area for a very short period 1972 to 1980. The area of the park was added to when the Alfredson Park location was altered to the northern side of Cabbage Tree Creek 19 September 1985
