Anzac Place, Redcliffe (Qld.). Moreton Bay Our Story, accessed 13/05/2026, https://ourstory.moretonbay.qld.gov.au/nodes/view/51758
Anzac Place was built to commemorate the fallen of WWI and WWII. It was felt that the word ‘Anzac’ was a suitable name in this context. With the Mayor The length of foreshore from the spillway of Humpybong Creek to the rollerdrome is rapidly changing into what will, in the next few weeks, become a beautiful piece of parkland almost in the main Redcliffe shopping centre. A rock seawall has been built, the area graded, and memorial gates and a cairn in honour of the fallen of both World Wars are being constructed. Suitably this area will be named Anzac Place and become a shrine of remembrance. Certainly the land for this purpose was granted by the council and council workmen are carrying out the construction, but I want it generally known that the whole cost of this memorial park is being paid for by the Redcliffe sub-branch of the Returned Servicemen’s League. For this donation towards the beautification of our city I wish, on behalf of the council and the citizens of Redcliffe, to publicly thank the members of this organisation of ex-servicemen.
