Bicentennial Park, Woody Point (Qld.)

Bicentennial Park was named for the Australian Bicentennial celebrations held in 1988 to celebrate the arrival of the First Fleet in Australia in 178. Australia held a year of celebrations in 1988 to mark the 200th anniversary of the founding of the country. Events were co-ordinated by the Australian Bicentennial Authoriy, with individual states, cities and other organisations mounting their own celebrations.
