Leslie Slaughter Park, Rothwell (Qld.)

Leslie Slaughter Park was named for historian Leslie Edgar Slaughter who was born in Queensland in 1894. Leslie married Sarah Ellen Branch in 1923 and they moved with their family to Margate in 1941. Leslie is best remembered as a historian and his history of Redcliffe, Redcliffe’s 160 Years published in 1959, is still used as a definitive guide to Redcliffe’s history.
