Len (Ernest Leonard) Huckbody was born in 1914 in England. After World War II Len relocated to Brisbane. He served as Deputy Chief Fire Officer at Redcliffe and trained auxiliary fire officers at Caboolture and Petrie. Len reminisces on his life in Pine Rivers, recalling the North Pine Hotel fire and firefighting in the region. He also recalls working for Australian Paper Manufacturers to establish a fire brigade at the Petrie Paper Mill.
