Caption from Redcliffe Herald 30 August 1978 pg 3: Redcliffe Rugby League captain-coach, Ian Pearce, receives a check for $1000 as first prize for the Pacific Land Best Player of the Year Award. The company's managing director, Mr Neil Miller, made the presentation at the club on Friday night. It's Bunny's third successive Pacific Land win and follows his success in several other awards this year. Bunny finished with 69 points. Tony Obst was second with 47 points and received $350 with Ian Thinee gaining third place with 41 points to receive $150. Each week during the season three sets of 3, 2, and 1 votes were awarded with one set being made public in the Herald. The other two sets were revealed on Friday night.
