DETAILS
TitleBribie's environment / by Warwick Outram.Alternative titleBribie Island's environmentDescriptionIn the early days, Marine environment was paramount to the Bribie fishing community. Late in the 19th century they realised catches of fish were declining. In 1904 they formed the Amateur Fishermen's Association of Queensland, collected specimens of local fish, a portion of which is on display at Bribie's Seaside Museum. The decline of life in both marine and land environment continued through the 20th century and early in the 21st century government scientists established the cause. Among other aspects of Bribie's natural history, this title looks at a few State Government reports that address some of the problems.
