Carl (Karl) was the first son of Sven Christianson and Anna Maria Magdalena Mehrens. His parents were dead when Carl and his three other brothers, Sven [2149], Hans [Discharged] and Christian (Christy) Carl [3058] enlisted in 1916. Carl was single and farming at Buderim, Queensland, when he enlisted. He was killed in action during the Battle of Mont-St Quentin. He was initially buried in an isolated grave then reinterred in the Peronne Communal Cemetery. Both his brothers, Sven and Christy, returned home, however, Christy was placed in a Mental Hospital in Sydney due to being gassed and died in 1959. Hans was living in Youngaburra when he enlisted, however he was discharged as medically unfit in December 1916 and he died in August 1917.Birth date13 June 1890Death date02 September 1918
