He was so keen to enlist he lied about his age by a year. His mother got information that he had enlisted under age and wrote a letter to the Officer Commanding at the 5th Depot Battalion where he was posted. He was discharged he then waited a year and re-enlisted. His occupation after the war was a farmer and he lived at Albany Creek. He died aged 53.Birth date16 August 1898Death date07 December 1951
