Deagon Lovebond Moor was the son of James Moor and Charlotte Windsor who lived in West Maitland, New South Wales. He was single and working as a salesman when he enlisted in Sydney, New South Wales in February 1917. Deagon had previously served for 2 years in the 39th Infantry, Citizen Military Forces, he then transferred to the Army Service Corps and was still serving when he enlisted.
