Stanley Collin Larkin was the son of The Reverend Stephen Larkin and Ellen Mary Collin of Atherthon, Queensland. He was farming in Atherton, North Queensland at the time of his enlistment in May 1915. He had previously been with the Australian Naval & Military Expeditionary Forces in New Guinea in 1914.
