William was 27 years old, occupation stated as bushman and living in Hughenden, Queensland when he enlisted on 17 January, 1916. His unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT Karoo on 5 May 1916 and William died from wounds in April 1918 while serving with the Camel Corps. Nothing is known of William's family.
