TitleGus (August Shaw) Gehrmann (1914-2004), 1952DescriptionGus Gehrmann was a young Engineer who had recently returned from the war when he was entrusted with the task of purchasing land for APM's proposed Mill sites in southeast Queensland. Once a site had been agreed upon he remained with the company as Resident Engineer and shortly after became the Resident District Manager responsible for designing and building the Mill. On 1 February 1967, APM agreed to second Gehrmann to the University of Queensland for 3 years. This followed his appointment as Deputy Chancellor of the University and allowed him the time to devote himself to the special responsibilities of his appointment. In February 1968 Gehrmann was appointed President of the Queensland Chamber of Manufacturers. This was to be the first of many such appointments. He later returned to APM in a consultative position, not attached to the Petrie Mill. Much of his time was then spent in the southern states. In 1970, at the age of 56, Gus Gehrmann retired from his position with APM.Date1952PhotographerAustralian Paper ManufacturersCollectorAustralian Paper ManufacturersRecord typePhotographFormat typeDigitalOriginal format colourBlack and white
