TitleRody Cruice and Maria Cruice (nee Boyle)DescriptionRody (1834-1911) and his wife Maria Cruice (nee Boyle) (1845-1912), pioneers of Dayboro. Rody Cruice arrived in Moreton Bay on the Erin-Go-Bragh on 2 August 1862. Also on board was his youngest sister Eliza. Maria Boyle arrived in Moreton Bay on the Caroline on 17 November 1853. Rody Cruice was born in 1834 in Clonagh, near Tullamore, Offaly, Ireland. Maria Boyle was born in 1845 in Clady, Armagh, Northern Ireland. Rody and Maria were married in St Stephen's Catholic Church, Brisbane on 11 August 1867. He was employed by William Henry Day in 1870 as manager and overseer of Day's sugar plantation and mill. He selected the first of his own land holdings in March 1875.
