TitleConrad Johan Frederick Buhmann with his wife Christianne Auguste Marie Buhmann (nee Leffer) and familyDescriptionConrad Johan Frederick Buhmann was born in Germany on 3 February 1852. He arrived in Moreton Bay on the Charles Dickens on 4 September 1877. He married Christianne Auguste Marie Leffer on 24 February 1881. She had arrived in Moreton Bay on the Friedeburg on 16 October 1878. Conrad selected the first of his properties at Mt Pleasant on 31 March 1879, being Portion 13 Parish of Pine, containing an area of 118 acres. Over the years he added another five properties to his land holdings at Mt Pleasant. He was a foundation member of the Dayboro Coronation Masonic Lodge when it formed in 1902 and was Worshipful Master in 1903-1904 and again in 1910-1911. Two of his sons enlisted in World War One (World War I or WWI), with Herman Ernest Otto Buhmann paying the supreme sacrifice on 4 July 1918, aged 24 years.
