May Haggarty married Arthur Lionel Trimble Hadley on 6 January 1926. Arthur Lionel Trimble Hadley was born on 5 March 1900 at South Brisbane, to parents Arthur Avenel Hadley and Eliza Jane Trimble. Arthur and May Hadley had two daughters, Lorna born 1926 and Betty born 1929. In 1929 the family were living at Yeronga. Arthur was a motor assembler. May Hadley (nee Haggarty) died on 26 November 1940 when her daughters were only 14 and 11.
