TitleMr Pinkard's motor vehicle, ca. 1923DescriptionThe vehicle in this photograph belonged to Mr Pinkard who conducted a Garage and Taxi (Hire Car) Service from a building on the south western corner of the intersection of Beerburrum Road and King Street Caboolture (now (1998) 42 King Street Caboolture). Mr Pinkard was often affectionately known as Pinky. Mr Pinkard moved from Launceston in Tasmania for health reasons. During World War One (WWI) he was a soldier and had been gassed. As a result he suffered with lung trouble and moved to Caboolture because of his need for a warmer climate. This photograph was taken during one of the many typical carnivals held in country towns in those days.Dateca. 1923CollectorCaboolture Historical SocietySampson, FrankRecord typePostcardFormat typePhysicalOriginal format colourSepia
