The motel is built where George and Nellie Boustead's home was located, which was part of the original David Edward Boustead property. Many of the family lived on surrounding allotments which formed part of the original Boustead property when they moved into Caboolture. Loftus and Annie owned Lane's Cafe, which was attached to the picture threatre opposite Caboolture Railway Station, where the Tavern, Bakery and Newsagency now stand (2005). Loftus also had a cordial factory and was an air raid warden in the district during World War II. Annie's grandfather David Boustead, commenced ambulance services in Caboolture.
